The technique of Patina Antiche allows to recreate on the surfaces of furniture the fascinating aspect of time, rediscovering the charm of the past. This process, which artificially accelerates the effects of the passing years, becomes an opportunity to explore not only aesthetics but also one’s own inner world. The patination, in fact, is not only decoration: it is a fusion between art and awareness, a journey that invites you to reflect on your own experience.

In my craft shop, the processing of Patine Antiche has transformed this space into a meeting point for furniture and restoration enthusiasts, people as attracted by the authenticity and quality of creations that go beyond simple aesthetics. The technique of coating, with its superimposition and removal of layers of colour, becomes a powerful metaphor for personal growth.

In my courses, I teach how to use the Ancient Patina as a tool of introspection. The patina becomes thus a meditative act, a way to get in touch with one’s own essence. Through conscious practice, art reveals itself as a powerful catalyst for inner healing, offering an opportunity to observe and reconcile one’s past.

The course dedicated to the technique of Patine Antiche is a unique opportunity for those who want to immerse themselves in the Florentine craftsmanship tradition, rediscovering an ancient and precious knowledge. This technique, which I developed in my workshop, is based on recipes handed down over time, using natural pigments and glues to recreate the authentic aging effect that distinguished the craftsmen of the fifteenth century. During the course, each participant will have the opportunity to apply these patinas on a piece of furniture that he or she will personally bring.

To participate in the course, you must therefore bring a medium-sized solid wood cabinet (no veneer, plywood or wood derivatives), such as a dresser, sideboard or cupboard, with maximum dimensions of 100 cm wide, 90 cm high and 50 cm deep. The wood must be raw, without varnish or previous treatments. To prepare the furniture, you can wash it with caustic soda or sand it with a sandblaster.
